Letters of Intent Signed in Islip

Four standout student-athletes at Islip High School have officially committed to continuing their athletic careers at the university level. On Nov. 15, Vanessa Juengerkes, Hana Lepore, Kieran Mullins and Kylie Ohlmiller signed National Letters of Intent to play Division I athletics.

Vanessa, a lefty pitcher for the varsity softball team, was named the League V Pitcher of the Year in 2012 and was selected as All-County and All-League during her years as a Buccaneer. She will play softball at Dowling College.

A four-year player for the girls varsity lacrosse team, Hana was named an All-League player and received the Unsung Hero award as a freshman. She will play defense on South Carolina’s Furman University lacrosse team this fall.

Kieran, a four-year starter for the boys varsity lacrosse team who received the Rookie of the Year award his freshman year, as well as designation as an All-American Honorable Mention and All-Division player, will play attack for the West Point Military Academy.   

A member of the girls varsity lacrosse team since eighth grade, Kylie has signed to play attack for the Stony Brook University Seawolves. During her years on the lacrosse team, she has been an All-County player.
