Pinwheels for Peace

The kindergarten and first-graders at Wing Elementary School commemorated International Day of Peace by participating in the Pinwheels for Peace Program. According to its website, the Pinwheels for Peace program is an art project that allows students to express their feelings on peace, unity and cooperation, as well as what is going on within their own lives.

“To commemorate International Day of Peace, Wing students and staff celebrated Pinwheels for Peace to remind us to be kind and respectful to others in our school and our community. The students decorated pinwheels and talked about ways to make good choices," social worker Allison Siegel explained.

On Sept. 22, the entire student body wore white, the international symbol of peace, gathered on the school playground and showcased their pinwheels.
