In a cross-grade collaborative effort, members of Stacey Cummings’s second-grade class and Elizabeth Fazio’s fifth-grade class at Islip’s Sherwood Elementary School presented a vibrant production of the classic Chinese children’s tale “Tikki Tikki Tembo” on Feb. 11 and 12.
The costumes and scenery for the play, held at Sherwood Auditorium, were designed by Fazio, and the colorfully costumed young cast included Alisha Mian and Justin Zizza as narrators, Emily Flora as Mother, Brady Nash as Tikki, Collin Haug as Chang, Callahan Zusi as Ping Ping, Isabella Dragos as Ling Ling and Alex Rahner as Old Man.
“What a wonderful opportunity for students to perform,” said Principal Maureen Martin.
