Suffolk County Water Authority educational programs coordinator Kathryn Fedun recently visited sixth-grade science classes at the middle school to discuss awareness of local water aquifers. Her presentation served to inform students about how clean, drinkable water gets to Long Island’s homes, schools and businesses. The SCWA program also discussed different ways in which water can become polluted, the importance of keeping our water clean and the process of how water is purified at the SCWA.

“The program reinforced concepts taught within our science classes,” said science teachers Jamie Carlino and Laura Rondinella. “The students were thoroughly engaged and had many related questions.”
