“Promoting science, technology, engineering and math for students is essential,” said Sherwood Principal Maureen Martin about the school’s efforts to spur interest in STEM subjects. With the objective of developing independent and creative thinking processes for students, Sherwood held a special STEM Day on March 27 that included an interactive STEM Museum sponsored by the school’s PTA and a Nao robot demonstration.
“In the future, students will need to be part of a scientific community,” said Martin. “So it is important that they enthusiastically participated in all if the day’s activities and gained a clear understanding of STEM.”
