IMS Students Learn Online Safety

Sixth-grade social studies classes at the middle school recently welcomed a representative of the Suffolk County Police Department’s Community Response Bureau, who spoke to the students about the importance of Internet safety and making good electronic choices. The officer discussed decisions and consequences, reminded students to be extremely careful when they do go online, and encouraged them to think about other activities they could do to limit their “connected time.”

“The 21st century has brought a generation of technological natives,” said Assistant Principal James Cameron.  “With that, the need for Internet awareness and safety training is paramount for our students.”
