Middle School Math-A-Thon Brings Out Generosity

IMS sixth-graders and the school’s National Junior Honor Society jointly raised $2,202 by participating in the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital annual Math-A-Thon fundraising program. The students were asked to complete math problems in the program’s Funbooks, and seek donations from sponsors based on how many problems they solved.

“We especially want to thank the members of the Islip community,” said teacher Dianne Ungaro, who helped organize the middle schoolers’ participation. “Their generosity will help a young child in need.”
