A total of 45 exceptional young district musicians were chosen to perform in this year’s Suffolk County Music Educators Association All-County Festival.

The student-musicians were selected for All-County based upon their performance at last year’s New York State School Music Association Solo Festival. Outstanding performers were recommended by their school music teachers for All-County consideration, and the honored students were then selected from hundreds of applicants from districts across Suffolk.

Students prepared for the festival with their school music teachers, then participated in a series of rehearsals that culminated in a concert held on March 14.

Selected this year from Commack Road Elementary School were trumpeter Kevin Czekaj and horn player Christian Vitucci for band; bassist Leah Cyran and violinist Timothy Mak for orchestra; and vocalists Ryan Van Nostrand, Sophia Regina and Genna Schifter for chorus.

Selected from Maud S. Sherwood Elementary School were flutist Hannah Evans for band; violinist Erin Boyd for orchestra; and vocalists Keera Kittles and Hailey Kuo for chorus.

Selected from Islip Middle School were clarinetists Jackson Bouler and Luke Reyder, trombonists Samuel Carroll and Matthew Gottesman, oboist Matthew Flood, flutist Meaghan Lawrence, tuba player Ryan Quinones, and alto saxophonists Jordan Bravin and Gregory Warnokowski for band; bassist Ralph Barbato, violinists Timothy Holewienko and Vasu Persaud, and viola player Thomas Vitale for orchestra; and vocalists Conner Argenziano, Isabella Aviles, Paige Cassara, Toni Castronova, Jackson Davis, Caleb Himmelmann, Joseph Leo, Dominique Prevette, Noelle Richard and Kaylie Walsh for chorus.

Selected from Islip High School were trumpeter Kyle Lackner, clarinetists Ryan Lange and Katie Warnokowski, and horn player Jacob Miller for band; bassist James Baldino for orchestra; and vocalists John DelGenio, Chad Fields, Matthew Kadam, Sheila Kiernan, Morgiana McDevitt and Emma Regina for chorus.
