Words were the winner at the PTA’s fall book fair at Islip’s Wing Elementary School on Sept. 30 and Oct. 1. The children enjoyed Scholastic’s monster theme, which the school enhanced with a “Guess How Many Eyeballs in the Jar” high-attendance raffle, with the winning class earning an ice cream party.
“The kids were super excited to come in and shop,” said PTA representative Deana McCreery. “As parents, reading is the biggest component of learning that we can influence at home.“
According to McCreery, the proceeds from the book fair are a major contribution to the PTA’s Parents As Reading Partners program.
