Six stellar student-musicians from the high school performed at the Suffolk New York State Council of Administrators of Music Education’s All-County Festival, held on Nov. 20 at Huntington High School.

James Baldino (string bass) and Katie Warnokowski (clarinet) performed in the All-County Band, while Savannah Beckford (alto), Matthew Kadam (bass), Nichole Pfuhl (soprano) and Kayleigh Rall (soprano) sang in the All-County Mixed Chorus.

All-County performers are selected from hundreds of applicants representing districts across Suffolk, based upon their performances at last year’s New York State School Music Association Solo Festival, followed by recommendations by their school music teachers. Students prepared for the festival with their school music teachers, then participated in a series of rehearsals that culminated in the NYSCAME concert, where they performed under the leadership of highly skilled college and professional conductors.

“Congratulations to these students who worked hard, and to their teachers who prepared them,” said Director of Fine and Performing Arts Vincent Green.
