Warmhearted staff and faculty at Wing Elementary have donated a total of $400 for the Children's Tumor Foundation in honor of inspirational Wing kindergartner Ella Evans.

Evans was diagnosed at age 2 with neurofibromatosis, a neurocutaneous syndrome that can affect many parts of the body, including the brain, spinal cord, nerves and skin. The disease, which affects one in every 3,000 people, can cause growth of non-cancerous tumors on nerve tissue, producing skin and bone abnormalities.

"Our family has been amazed at the outpouring of love and support the staff have shown," said her mother, Kristy Evans. "It's comforting to belong to such a caring community and know that we are not alone in this fight."
