Author JoAnn Termini-Pira, a former student at Commack Road, recently returned to her old elementary school for a costume-adorned reading of her children’s book “I Am Not a Weed.” As a special heartwarming treat, Termini-Pira’s fourth-grade teacher, Donna Ketcham, was on hand at Commack Road to welcome the storyteller.

“JoAnn informed the current students about her journey from being a student at Commack Road to becoming an exciting and wonderful author and illustrator,” said Principal Brian McCarthy.
