In recognition of Red Ribbon Week at the end of October, seventh- and eighth-graders at the middle school heard Stephen Hill from Speak Sobriety share his story of substance abuse. Hill discussed his personal struggles while highlighting the benefits of living a clean and sober life.
“Mr. Hill also discussed issues of peer pressure, bullying, anxiety and depression,” said school social worker Shari Pennington. “Our students and staff were very moved by his story.”
After the assembly, Hill connected with many students individually, answering their questions regarding the dangers of experimenting with drugs and alcohol
