Holiday Boutique

For the past eight years, the Wing Elementary School in Islip has been hosting a Holiday Boutique for students and families. The PTA-sponsored event is held at night in order to benefit the many working parents in the district, and features local vendors selling their products. The PTA also supplies an art station that allows the young children and their families to create holiday cards and ornaments.

“This night has really become a tradition to many of our families,” said Wing Principal Diane Druckman. “I’ve had students who are now in the middle school return with their parents saying they’d never miss it. It’s a great opportunity for everyone to connect.”

Additionally, students involved in D.E.C.A. and Junior Chamber of Commerce at Islip High School attend the event to help wrap gifts, sell raffle tickets, and offer assistance to the younger students purchasing gifts. “It’s perfect for these students, because it helps to hone their business skills,” said advisor Renée Clock.
